Due to a demand for her teaching at the Serrano's Academy, Ms. Miller has added an extra evening, Wednesday, in Belleville, NJ as well as additional teaching on Wednesdays and Fridays in her Hoboken, NJ studio. Therefore she will be unable to offer the lessons in your home any longer. Ms. Miller is happy to continue the new $30 (per lesson times 4), $40 (per lesson times 4), $50 (per lesson times 4)lower price lesson plan!!! Four lessons paid in advance will result in savings over the regular single lesson price, (4 X $35 = $140, etc.) shown in the last paragraph of this newsletter. The four card 30 minute lessons are now $120, a savings of $20, the four card 45 minute lessons are $160, a savings of $32, and the the four card 60 minute lessons are $200, a savings of $40. Gift certificates for 4 lessons at these prices are also available. Cards of 4 lessons must be taken within the same month period or at Ms. Miller's and the student's agreed upon extension for illnes or emergencies. On June 6, 2009 voice and piano students of Brenda Kay Miller were part of a recital held in Brenda Miller & Doris Totaro's apartment. Three students sang and played piano. The following students were involved in the recital: Deepa Baalakrishnan, Sophia Battaglia, and Gloria Rodriguez. Pictures of participating students appear on the Studio-Pictures page. Nine songs were performed from I Got the Sun In the Morning to I'm Not That Girl. Ms. Miller accompanied the vocal students. The recital was originally scheduled for four students but Courtney Leahy was unable to attend.

Ms. Miller's 7 of 14 students (2009) from the Serrano's Academy Performing Arts School in Belleville, NJ performed on their June 28, 2009 recital at Mediterranean Manor in Newark. If you live near Belleville, please contact the Serrano's Academy at 973-844-0200 for the lesson pricing and Ms. Miller's availability as the scheduling and cost is handled directly by the Serrano's Academy. She teaches at the Serrano's Academy on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Ms. Miller also taught 16 students at the Serrano Academy over the school's 5 week summer program. As of February 2010 Ms. Miller has a schedule of 19 students at Serrano's Academy.

The Golden Stage Chorus, ages 60-90 years of age, which Ms. Miller directs in New York City performed on October 5, 2009 with 30 members performing "Sunrise Sunset". This was only the third time this chorus was performing and the first time the chorus was singing in 5 vocal parts accompanied by Jack Light. The Golden Stage Chorus is now working on a 5 song medley for performance in 2010.

Regularly priced single lessons for voice/piano study with Brenda Kay Miller are $35.00 for 30 minutes, $48 for 45 minutes and $60.00 for 60 minutes and may be scheduled singly at the student's and Ms. Miller's convenience. *There is a 24 hour cancellation policy for cancelled or moved lessons with a health problem as the only same day excuse. Lessons not made up in the same week or at Ms. Miller's convenience will be charged for that lesson. New students must pay the first month's lessons in cash, money order or certified check. Thereafter you may use a personal check. Persons taking lessons bi-monthly or less will not be eligible for discounts. Lessons purchased on a monthly basis or in a gift certificate with discount rates will be considered to be consecutive, weekly lessons. Gift certificates for random, or spaced lessons will be charged at the regular single lesson rate.
